Senior Executive Council

  • Gloria King became the Chief Executive Officer in March 2008. Gloria has 35 years experience in health care, 13 years in Manitoba Health and Healthy Living and the last five years as Vice President of Health Services and Chief Nursing Officer. She has lived in northern Manitoba for 28 years.

  • Rusty Beardy became the Vice President of Aboriginal Health in January 2008. Previously, he was the lead negotiator for Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak on child and family services issues and is a former Chief of War Lake First Nation.

  • Rajinder Thethy became the Chief Financial and Operating Officer in April 2008. He comes to the BRHA after serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Community Economic Development Fund and Manager of the Fisheries Loan Portfolio. He was also a financial advisor for York Factory First Nation and Keewatin Tribal Council.

  • Marion Ellis accepted the role of Vice President of Acute Health Services and Chief Nursing Officer in May 2008. She brings a great deal of experience to this role having served in the health care field in the Burntwood Region for the past 26 years. She was previously the Director of Health Services.

  • Dr. Hussam Azzam joined the BRHA team in August 2008 as the Vice President of Medical Services. He has 10 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, previously serving as a physician in the United Kingdom. The Vice President of Medical Services is a half-time position. The rest of his time is spent offering clinical services in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Northern Consultation Clinic in Thompson General Hospital.

  • Paul Therrien has served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the BRHA since March 2005. Previous to this, his career has including being the Human Resources Director for several large organizations. He is also the past president of the Human Resources Management Association of Manitoba, the Manitoba Society for Training and Development and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Association.
