Family and Specialist Physician's Benefits Summary

The following information does not constitute a contract of employment and contains only an outline of some of the terms and conditions of employment for this position. Further information may be obtained through the Physician Recruiter.

Work Week: 37.5 hours per week
Vacation: 30 paid days per year prorated to May 1.

Continuing Medical Education:
10 paid days per calendar year, January 1 - December 31, to support education plus $7000.00 to cover tuition/books costs.

College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM) Fees:
CPSM Registration fees are paid by the BRHA

Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Fees:
Canadian Medical Protective Association fees are paid by the BRHA.

Pay in lieu of Pension
Each pay period, the BRHA shall pay each full time and part time physician an amount equal to seven percent (7%) of the physician's salary for that pay period less the Authority's CPP contribution for that pay period.

Sick Leave
Each full time and part time physician shall earn 1.25 days per pay period to be used in the event of illness. These are cumulative but not paid out on departure.

Health Benefits:
Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Group Health Benefits are provided under the Healthcare Employees Benefits Plan (HEBP) - Premiums are paid by the BRHA.

Basic Dental coverage is provided through Great West Life Assurance. - Premiums are paid by the BRHA.

Maternity Leave Benefits provided under the collective agreement with Doctors Manitoba

Library:
The BRHA has a medical library for staff use with a full time librarian to assist with your searches. The Library is linked with the University of Manitoba Neil John MacLean Library and has access to its resources.

Up-to-date:
As a BRHA physician you have access to UpToDate, a worldwide on-line clinical community that you can benefit from. UpToDate is the largest clinical community in the world dedicated to synthesizing knowledge for clinicians and patients. It includes more than 4,000 expert clinicians who function as authors, editors and peer reviewers and over 360,000 users who provide feedback and questions to the editorial group it facilitates interaction among members of the health care community and synthesizes and disseminates information in order to help doctors be better doctors.

Hour per Year:
1400 hours per year for Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)

Stabalization Payment:
$39,375 per year for FTE, effective April 1/09
$40,315 per year for FTE, effective April 1/10

Designation Payment:
CCFP (EM) - $3000
American Board of EM - $5000
RCPSC (Emergency Medicine) - $10,000

Professional Fees:
